The flame never dies . . .

Millie Cross knows what it’s like to burn for someone. She was young and wild and he was fierce and even wilder-a Chaos biker who made her heart pound. They fell in love at first sight and life was good, until she learned she couldn’t be the woman he needed and made it so he had no choice but to walk away. Twenty years later, Millie’s chance run-in with her old flame sparks a desire she just can’t ignore. And this time, she won’t let him ride off . . .

Bad boy Logan “High” Judd has seen his share of troubles with the law. Yet it was a beautiful woman who broke him. After ending a loveless marriage, High is shocked when his true love walks back into his life. Millie is still gorgeous, but she’s just a ghost of her former self. High’s intrigued at the change, but her betrayal cut him deep-and he doesn’t want to get burned again. As High sinks into meting out vengeance for Millie’s betrayal, he’ll break all over again when he realizes just how Millie walked through fire for her man . . .

Kristen Ashley had me walk through fire and I loved every single damn minute of it. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I obsessed over this book. I wish that I could somehow replicate all the FEELS that Kristen Ashley splayed out on the pages of Millie and Logan’s story onto my review. It would be the only possible way to show you what this book did to my heart and my psyche. A total 5-star read which can only be done by KA.

A second chance romance that defines what second chance romance is all about. From the very first moment, you can’t help but feel just how powerful Millie and Logan’s love for each other was and like Millie felt when she first laid eyes on Logan again after 20 years apart, I know it would be exactly how anyone so cosmically connected to another would have felt. That familiar voice, with that all too familiar scent, or a song that’s tethered to a memory could trigger something so intense, you’re left irrevocably lost in the memories of the past and the agonizing regret for letting it slip through your fingers. Yes, folks and to think all of this from a mere two or so pages not even 5% into the book. When I say that Walk Through Fire has ALL the feels, I genuinely mean it. Kristen Ashley had me crying.  Yes, crying my eyes out from the pain of a sacrifice made; a cataclysmic reminder of how unfair life can be. The dialogue, oh GOD the back and forth dialogue between Logan and Millie during the first half of this book had me weeping. Seriously, my stomach felt like my insides were being wrenched out of me. The stinging in my noise and burning of my eyes simply from the words exchanged between them were out of control. KA killed me, bit by bit I felt the stab of every single, hurtful words between Logan and Millie—so agonizing because they came from such deep hurt. At one point, I couldn’t believe that KA would rip apart my already tattered self. Page after page after page during the first 50% of this book had me losing my sh*t and the literary masochist in me LOVED it. I took glory in this new side that Kristen Ashley was giving me. Never have I cried so much through a book written by her before and my goodness do I praise her for such an epic change up. This book is so intense. I’m talking tear gushing intense.  Millie was an absolute kick arse heroine, proving that she walked through fire for her man not once flinching or wavering because the love she possessed for Logan far outweighed any pain she had to endure. Selfless. Absolutely, rock chick, old lady material and I’ve got to say that she’s top dog in my book. I loved her and I could not get enough of the person she was. Some may say that certain elements of what she’d given up are unrealistic, but honestly it just added that extra kick of a fairytale love that should always, always exist in fictional romance stories—especially ones that make our knees weak and our bodies sway from the impact of such a once in a lifetime love. And the reason behind what she’d done… well, that was some heavy sh*t. Something that many could relate to and something that will absolutely break you down. Now let’s talk about Logan because KA has once again given us an alpha male which she is so infamous for and now let me tell you this… I fell madly, deeply, in love with Tack in Motorcycle Man and I didn’t think anyone could sway me away from Tack—as much as I loved Shy and Joker, they didn’t quite give me what Tack did. But people… PEOPLE!!! Logan “High” Judd made me a believer. A believer that it is possible to love two men equally at the same time. I couldn’t and I haven’t been able to shake him off because yes, he was THAT good! Exceptional, marvelous, superb… Perfection. These same adjectives go for the love that Millie and Logan had for one another as well. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with their story.

This book not only gave us Millie Cross and Logan “High” Judd, but she also showers us with some of our all-time faves—TACK, Tara, and even Elvira. I loved every single scene where the entire Chaos clan were around. The ladies of Chaos are everything; what they stand for and how they love their “old men” had me rocking out, celebrating being a woman if it meant I could exist through them for the few hours I was lost into the digital pages of this book.

Walk Through Fire is my favorite book in the Chaos series and this means a whole lot because I’ve got so much love for the rest of the books. What took this one up a level was definitely the multitude of feelings that made me implode and the very same book that had me reverberating with so much gratification for a love redeemed. This was the sort of book that had me reading ‘til the sun came up—honest to goodness truth. I was running on a couple of hours sleep and still, I felt like I had to slow my pace down because I was dreading finishing it. So while I am jealous of those of you who have yet to experience this book, I am also quickly reminded of the beauty of re-reading it again and again and again… And that is exactly what I will do because Millie and Logan are worth that and because Kristen Ashley’s words demand it.

I cannot recommend this book enough. For my fellow KA fanatics, I don’t doubt you’ll be picking this up and I am SO damned excited for you all to meet Millie and Logan and for those of you who have yet to experience KA’s writing and her characters, I implore you… Take a leap of faith and walk through fire with these unforgettable characters and the story that this incomparable author has so graciously shared with us all. You will be so happy that you did.

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
