Melanie’s Best of 2016 Picks

unnamed-1I have to admit, this is probably one of my most favorite times of the year. Being able to look back and share with you all my top book picks  gives me the warm fuzzes. It’s been a great year for books but of course, there are those that manage to burrow themselves deep into your hearts, ones that made you go wild in the best way. I swear it… There is nothing quite like losing myself into the pages of a book. Being able to just turn off the noise after a long days’ worth of work where my eyes practically go cross-eyed from looking at too many numbers on an Excel spreadsheet. These stories from these magical creatures otherwise known as authors just make life so much better. So while most people lose their sh*t when they run into actors or musicians… I turn into a major fan girl at author signings instead. Year after year, I am graciously thankful to have had some unbelievable love affairs with books such as the ones below.

I’d like to say THANK YOU dear, dear authors for sharing your talents and your passion with fan girls like me. My addiction to fiction wouldn’t exist without your beautiful words. Keep rockin’ and I will keep supporting, reviewing, and shouting from the roof tops my LOVE for you work. ❤

And to fellow bloggers/reviewers… Quite frankly, I bow down to you. I personally know just how difficult it is to take time out of your busy schedules to sit down and actually BLOG & REVIEW the mountains of books you go through. An unpaid job that could many times make you feel unappreciated. Trust me, Michelle and I have thoughts about just closing shop too. But your drive (along with ours) to continue chugging on purely out of our LOVE and PASSION for the literary world is beyond anything I could grasp. So from one book lover to another, I salute you and I look forward to your thoughts and opinions in the new year because they are appreciated and I really do take your recommendations to heart which zings to my #oneclick finger. 😉

Meet the Blogger:

1916601_202353907559_7969844_nI’m Melanie and I’m 1/2 of We Like It Big Book Blog and like my co-blogger Michelle, I am a mom & wife who discovered her love for reading early in life. I enjoyed The Babysitters Club, Sweet Valley High, and Goosebumps. It was in middle school that I became a proud Potterhead (Go Hufflepuff)… Yep, I was one of those who stood in lines for both the release of follow-up books & movie releases. With life moving steadily along and being forced into adulthood, I somehow lost my reading mojo along the way. Then the literary heavens opened up for me once again after reading Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series & E.L. James Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy which really catapulted my obsession for reading. There isn’t a day after I turned that last page on Fifty Shades Freed that I haven’t powered up my Kindle or opened up a book since.  So aside from my family, books pretty much give me that spark to keep burning through my everyday musings. Reading is life.
