Title: Then Comes Marriage

Author: Emily Goodwin

Publication Date: June 30, 2016

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Fall in love—check.
Get engaged and plan a perfect wedding—check and check.
Find my fiancé with another woman—I never thought I’d check that off the list, yet here I am, putting a giant “X” in that box just months before we take our sacred vows.

Along with recovering from a broken heart, I’m left with the mess of canceling all things wedding. The venue gave me the deposit back. The florist canceled my order with no charge. The resort we booked for the honeymoon—yeah, they’re not giving me a dime. But I’ll be damned if I throw away a chance to spend two weeks in a tropical paradise, lounging on the beach with a drink in my hand, looking for anything but love.

When I see Derek Turner—a sexy homicide detective I’ve run into a few times before—walking along the beach, I’m not sure if he’s stalking me or if it’s fate. Dark and brooding with a past he refuses to talk about, Derek is the last thing I need…and is exactly what I want.

But when what started off as a rebound turns into something more, something neither of us can deny, I’m left with love’s greatest irony: finding the right person at the worst possible time.

Kova’s power and domination, coupled with Adrianna’s fierce tenacity, reveal there is more for her body to learn. Rake’s Redemption (Wind Dragons MC, #4) by Chantal Fernando RELEASE BLITZ /Review

Chantal Fernando
Now Live!
In New York Times bestselling author Chantal Fernando’s latest novel in the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club series, Rake—baddest of the bad boys—gets his own romance at last!

Rake is known for being up for anything, in and out of the bedroom. He’s wild, he’s deadly, yet quick with a joke or a stolen kiss. Known as the player of the WDMC, he loves women, the more the merrier. However, behind his womanizing façade, Rake hides the pain of losing his first love, Bailey. He hasn’t loved anyone since, and doesn’t think he ever will.

Seven years after their split, Rake and Bailey run into each other at the MC’s favorite club. Old wounds resurface, secrets are spilled…and passionate feelings are awakened. But they’ve each done things to hurt the other, hurt them too badly to get over it—haven’t they? Only when Bailey’s connection to Rake puts her in danger from another Club member does he realize that there’s nothing he won’t do to protect her—and claim her as his once again.

I really do love this series. I love the characters. I love all the club drama. I just love everything about it.
But…even though I devoured this book I still felt like something was off while reading it. Just like Trackers story (which I really wasn’t feeling, story line wise).
This book too… Felt like it took a turn story line wise.
I hated how the drama in this book was centered around Rakes ways… (That’s all I’m going to say… I don’t want to give anything away) And Bailey’s drama.
Also too… This book felt like it was about all the men’s women in the Wind Dragons book. Yes, the men were there. But this book felt like it was more about the women. The story starts off with Rake and Bailey seeing each for the first time after seven years. Then it proceeds with Rake being a big jerk to Bailey for a good chunk of the book. He was just so mean to her. But at the same time… He could not stay away from her. Lots of mixed signals going on with Rake.
And Bailey just took it.

The internal dialogue was a lot with Bailey. At times I just wanted to skip it. I hate full on conversation like that. It just feels like filler to me.

Ughhh… I was ok with Rake being with other women in other books. And yes… Even in the beginning of this book I was put off with him being with other women. I just hated how he would parade them in front of Bailey! He was really mean to her. It was just too much! Especially since Bailey wasn’t and couldn’t be with anyone else. ( I hate that in books!)
And when they did finally get together. Bailey just had to accept all the women.
I hated that.
I know Rake was a man whore. But it didn’t need to be said all the time by every character in this book. I felt it was getting constantly thrown in Bailey’s face. And she just had to take it. Because really… What can she do.

I also felt there was some things that were totally made light of and some loose ends in this book that I would have liked to have read more about.
Like… Something happens to Bailey in the early years. When Rake and her were together in high school. It was said and that was it. But I felt like there should have been more about it.
And…what happens to Christa? I really wanted to know about her.

Once Rake and Bailey got their stuff together. I could totally feel the chemistry in the beginning then love towards the end. I loved how we got to read about all the other characters in this book.
I’m even hoping we get a Ranger and Talon book from the Wild Men MC!

Overall… I still devoured this book and I still love these characters. And I will continue to read this series.
I can’t wait to read Vinnie And Irish’s story!
(I hope they get one!)

RELEASE BLITZ: Slow Grind by Eva Spencer

Title: Slow Grind
Series: Men of Mornington #1
Author: Eva Spencer
Genre: Romance
 Release Date: June 28, 2016

Only the good die young. It’s a phrase I wish never existed.

Best mates shouldn’t get cancer, especially terminal at twenty-seven. And experimental treatments shouldn’t cost a hundred grand. But sometimes life just fucking sucked.

Then I got an idea to raise the cash. If a woman could strip her way through uni, we could strip our way to a cure, right? We were attractive Aussie guys, and with the help of Max’s kid sister, we could nail the choreography.

I hadn’t seen Aubrey since she was twelve. She’d gone from a pig-tailed, freckled tomboy into the sexiest chick I think I’d ever met. I made a promise to Max to steer clear, but when she was choreographing our routines …

The Men of Mornington were going to heat things up, and things just got a whole lot hotter..

“I’ve invited Drew and the guys around tonight for drinks, okay?”I stand at Max’s bedroom door and peer inside. I can just make out the shape of his body on his bed. He rolls over and switches on his lamp, squinting up at me and wiping the sleep from his eyes.

After a few days of making sure this plan can actually work, Drew and I are ready to let the others in on it. I’m nervous, because I have no idea how they’re going to react. Especially Max. But, at the end of the day I know this will work. It has to.

“How long have I been asleep?” he mumbles, struggling to sit up. I walk over to help him, but he waves me off. “I’m okay, Aubs.”

I hang back as much as it kills me to watch him fight to do something that’s so normal for the rest of us, my fingers fidgeting in front of me. He hates it when I try to help him, but I do it without even thinking—it’s my second nature, I think. I just want to make things as easy as I can for him. I did even when he wasn’t sick. I guess I got the nurture and he got the nature. Nope, that’s a lie, he got the nurture too. A pair of peas on a pod, I guess.

“Only a few hours. I wanted to let you rest as long as you were able,” I say, answering his question. “Mom said you were having trouble sleeping through the night, but then I thought you might be hungry, so I’ve made soup. Mom also said you can usually handle that on your stomach when you’re not feeling well. Is that okay?”

“You’re cooking is enough to kill any appetite I have. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” he chuckles. I glower at him, but it’s nice to hear him laugh again, even if it is at my expense and even if it is a little morbid. How do you tell a guy with a body that’s giving out on him that it’s too soon to be making death jokes? I suppose you can’t, can you?

He stands up and I hand him his robe, consciously making sure I don’t try to help him. He follows me out to the kitchen, where the aroma of chicken soup fills the air. He wanders over to the trash and picks up an empty can, laughing and shaking his head.

“Opening a can and heating it doesn’t exactly qualify as cooking,” he says.

“Yeah, well, it’s my kind of cooking,” I respond defensively, snatching the can off him. I toss it back in the bin and set two bowls on the counter. “Go and sit down,” I order.

I pour the steaming soup straight from the pot into two bowls and carry them over to where he’s sitting, placing one in front of him, the other on the opposite side. He obliges, and I wait to take my seat until he’s taken his.

“You better have given me the one with more,” he teases. I smile, my mind going back to our childhood when we used to fight over which drink had more in it, or who got the bigger slice of cake. I remember our dad complaining because for a very long time I even had to have the blue cup because Max had a blue cup. Then, as I grew older, everything became a competition; who finished dinner first, who got to sit in the front seat. Still, as I sit with the soup, I find myself wondering if I can finish before Max, so for the first time I can actually win. It’s hard being ten and being in competition with a teenage boy—they can eat enough for ten men and still have room to steal the dessert.

“Remember the time when you stole the ice cream from the freezer, and when Mom realized one was missing, she refused to let us have another until one of us owned up to it?” Max chuckles and takes a small sip of the broth, leaving the noodles and small chunks of chicken behind in the bowl.

I laugh and roll my eyes. “It’s been twelve years. You can own up to it now,” I say. “I was so pissed at you for making me miss out. You could have at least taken one for me. You knew she wouldn’t let either of us have any until we fessed up.”

“It wasn’t me!” he laughs and holds his hands up in surrender. “I was sure it was you.”

“Even back then, me and mom fought all the time. I wouldn’t dare risk having her unleash her special, sophisticated brand of crazy on me,” I scoff. Max has no reason to lie to me after all this time, so the more I think, the more my mind wanders, then realization hits. “Wasn’t Drew there that day? In the afternoon?”

Max nods, confused, and then breaks out into a smile. “That sneaky little bugger. That bastard owes us ice cream.”

“I’ll make sure he follows through,” I giggle. “You know how I feel about my desserts.”

BLOG TOUR & BOOK REVIEW: Say You’ll Stay by Corinne Michaels

Say you'll stay available now (1)

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00074]One word.

It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with him.

That was seventeen years ago.

I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.

Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to return to Tennessee. He wasn’t supposed to be there. I should’ve been safe. However, fate has a way of stepping in.

This time around, the tables are turned. It’s my decision. Second chances do exist, but I don’t know if we can repair what’s already been broken . . .

** This is a STANDALONE **

FullSizeRender (51)

Ding dong, the book funk witch is dead!!! OMG you guys! You guys!!! I can’t even start this review as eloquently as I’d like because from the get go I need you all to know just how AMAZING this book is. I loved every part of this book—from the very beginning, all through its middle, and up to the very end. In my opinion, Say You’ll Stay by Corinne Michaels was one of the most perfect second chance romances I’ve read to date. It was emotionally taxing, right out of the gate. I was not prepared to have my heart be blown up into tiny pieces in just the first few pages. It was unexpected and entirely too effective. While you find yourself riding an emotional roller coaster throughout the book, the sweet and the swoon factor will win over time and time and time again. This book was everything I needed and believe me when I say that there wasn’t a single moment that I wanted to put it down. Reading past my bedtime and doing “sneak reads” at work, those are two glaring signs that point to a 5+ star and book shelf worthy book.

You will fall in love with Zach as quickly as I did. He is everything a book boyfriend/husband is made of. Ms. Michaels is famous for giving her readers male protagonists who win your heart over, ones that make you lose all your bearings, and ones that make you want to live in the pages themselves. Anything to feel and taste an ounce of the sweetness that oozes out of them. Zachary Hennington is unquestionably another to add on to that list. Presley Mae, is a wonderful heroine – extremely resilient even in her darkest times. She’s the sort of character that readers can’t help but want to protect even when her bravery shines through.

I loved the pace and the structure of this book. I especially commend Corinne Michaels for being able to keep me in the present while she re-lived the past. These memories which gave me so much more insight and background to the characters were weaved into the present extremely well. A balanced harmony between their most painful and happiest memories. I as a reader saw it all through Presley’s and Zach’s eyes which caused my eyes to well with tears during so many moments in this book. I found myself crying like a heartbroken sixteen year old girl, clutching my Kindle with one hand, while the other swiped away the errant tears. Stories of a first love lost and the chance of finding it again is my ultimate weakness. Say You’ll Stay played on that weakness all too well.

I cannot say enough about this book and I truly wish I had a never-ending cash flow so that I could buy a copy for all of you because I honestly believe that everyone who enjoys an extraordinary love story needs to read this book. Say You’ll Stay follows Presley Mae—from her series of tremendous losses, to her unwillingness of letting such tragedies destroy her and her sons spirits, to finding the courage to live again while finding that second chances do exist. Presley and Zach’s story not only reminded me that the greatest and truest loves can really withstand the test of time but that even though life’s plans are way beyond our control, the choice of who we love is not. Say You’ll Stay had my heart from start to finish and has my book shelf worthy stamp of approval.
