Rockstar Daddy takes place four years after Kendal left Jax. Kendal is a hard working mum to three and a half year old Finley and Jax is a huge rockstar. Read Rockstar Daddy to follow Kendal and Jax’s journey. Will Jax and Kendal meet again and will Jax find out he has a son?

Melanie’s 3.5 Star Review:

Rockstar Daddy was a pleasant and easy read; one that I was able to get through within a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon.

The story of Jax and Kendal though reminiscent to a few other romance stories out there had a different taste to it which I really enjoyed. What differentiated Rockstar Daddy was that the author was really able to portray the mother and son connection between Kendal and Finley. The few other books with similar plots fail to do that, they only truly focus on the relationship between the hero and the heroine. By giving her readers a taste of Kendal’s bond with Finley, it gives her character more depth which is always a win for a book heroine.

I love second chance romances and this one was no exception. During the times that they were apart due to a misplaced selfless act, Kendal and Jax still very much loved each other. They both longed for each other throughout the entire years they were separated and their love for each other never faltered, even after having relationships with other people (or in Jax case, many, many other people). I was surprised not to have read any steamy, sex scenes in this book at all- with a title like Rockstar Daddy and with a cover like that, I was expecting it and was a bit disappointed. With two very good looking, virile characters, I’d think that the author would have at least given us a hint of their sexual chemistry.

My biggest complaint about Rockstar Daddy would be the inanimate, unneeded details that are littered all over the pages of this book. I mean, I get it; authors want their readers to be able to visualize what is happening; a way to get their readers to live through their words… But to me, there were too many minute details which quite honestly, took me out of the zone. Just when a great dialogue is finally taking form, it would revert back to the characters dress color, the kind of shoes Kendal is wearing, the etc., etc. I wish that the details were done more with purpose rather than come off as fillers.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. Again, it’s short and sweet and I am looking forward to see what is in store for Jax and Kendal and I am truly pulling for them to have their much deserved happily ever after.

Be spontaneous, they say.

That’s how I ended up on the back of a stranger’s bike.

A sexy, tall, tattooed stranger, but a stranger nonetheless.

How was I to know that a chance meeting with this man, Xander Kane, was going to change my life?

Loves Suicide by Jennifer For Cover Reveal

My heart belonged to Branch and Brooks Valentine since we were children, when we were all too naïve to know what that even meant. We didn’t understand that when we became adults, love would change us. I had to make a choice and when I did, it ripped our bond apart. Brooks left town, and he took half of my heart with him. It was difficult, but I coped and planned my future with Branch. I thought I’d made the right decision. I loved him and I always had.
Brooks showed up to be our best man the night before our nuptials. After drinks and too much reminiscing, I ended up in bed with the wrong brother. To avoid the humiliation and the fact that I’d ruined all of our lives, I left Branch and the only family I’d ever known.
That’s where my story should have ended.
Two years, one beautiful little girl and an abusive marriage later, I was standing there staring at the man that would always hold my heart.
The only question was…
Would I give it to him
I’m Katy Michaels and this is my story.

January Author Spotlight: Ilsa Madden-Mills

It’s an understatement when we say that we are BIG fans of Ilsa Madden-Mills. We ADORE everything she does because she does them all so Very, Wickedly GOOOOOD.

1) Very Bad Things left me (Melanie) with a massive book hangover, no type of painkiller could help

2) Ilsa & Very Bad Things were voted as our Best of Debut for 2013

3) Very Wicked Things is one of my top three most anticipated reads of 2014

So it’s not surprise that we have asked Miss Madden-Mills to start off our year as author of the month. We have some BIG things to share with you all.. So…

Author Q&A:

Q. When did you start getting the itch to start writing?

A. I have always written. My first story in hidden away. It’s a 100K paranormal romance.

Q. What was the deciding factor for you to publish your work?

A. Validation that maybe if I loved writing it, someone else would love to read it.

Q. What is the scariest thing to happen after you hit that publish button?

A. Scary–reading mean reviews. I can handle the low ones if they’re constructive, but some are just plain ole vindictive

Q. What was the inspiration behind Very Bad Things & Briarcrest Academy in general?

A. My hubs has always believed in everything I write. He had been telling me for years to never give up.

Q. I know writers often say that their characters speak to them- who’s talking to you right now and what is she/he telling you?

A. Dovey the ballerina from Very Wicked Things talks to me constantly. I love her and even though she is not as snarky as Nora, she is amazingly funny in her own way. She grew up dirt poor but extremely ambitious. Unlike Nora, she never wore those Jimmy Choos. She’s tough and street smart and big, big hint here and no one else knows: she’s Russian!

Q. How do you come up with such seductive scenes??aka: the bathroom strip tease and music room rendezvous?

A. You and my mother-in-law would both like to know that, but the truth is, I don’t know. It just come to me…

Q. Do you pay close attention to reviews? How do you deal with negative ones?

A. I cry and drink wine and then go out an buy something pretty.

Q. Are you more like Nora or Dovey?

A. Dovey. She’s more real to me.

Q. What would you say is your biggest turn on/off in the opposite sex?

A. Smart assery

Q. Any advice for relatively new bloggers us has ourselves from an author’s perspective?

A. Keep supporting the indie writer. They are going places and changing the landscape of publishing. Be truthful and please don’t steal work. Not that you would, but it’s rampant right now and not just with bloggers. It’s hard to know who to trust in indie.

This book was a quick & easy read.

I’m a new self published author who just got introduced to the writing world early 2013. My aunt suggested that I write a story because I’m an avid reader but I waved it off and left it alone. Well this year, a story came to me and I went with it. It took me a little bit but I finally got a story idea that worked and now I can’t stop or control the characters/stories that keep popping up in my head.

I’m born and raised in Canada and I live with my very wonderful and supportive husband, Michael. We don’t have any children (yet) unless you count our cat. My hubby been my rock through this whole new experience for me. I couldn’t have done it without him and my friends and family.

One of the many things I love about this new chapter in my life is that I’m learning constantly. It’s never a dull moment and as long as one person likes my story, I am happy.

Their pasts are intertwined and their futures uncertain. The only truths they know are the secrets they whisper in the night.

Melanie’s 5 BIG Star Review:

Come To Me Quietly is a riveting story of love that could only belong to Jared Holt & Aleena Moore.

In my eyes, A.L. Jackson’s books are emotionally impactful and always powerfully delivered. Her writing style is one of the most melodic and poetic I have ever come in contact with and in my past reviews, have dubbed her to be a modern day, Edgar Allan Poe. How she manages to make something tragic so beautiful is something of a mystery to me and could only be done by someone with a natural and God-given talent for it. She first set my heart afire after reading Pulled and soon thereafter, each and every A.L. Jackson book I have picked up has continued to keep that fire alive.

So, I am shouting to the heavens (and you) when I say that Come To Me Quietly carries a heavy dose of lighting fluid. This set me ablaze! Jared Holt’s and Aleena Moore’s story is my MOST favorite of her work thus far. I am so fired up by this book that I could hear the crackling of excitement all over my body.

I have fallen in love so hard with the hero and heroine of this book; the beautiful, broken boy & the devastatingly courageous and magnificent girl. Their story is startlingly haunting from beginning to end. I have never before experienced the sort of silent tears that ran rampart down my face. Don’t get me wrong, there have been books that have given me crocodile, ugly, & downright rowdy tears- tears that are caused because of something so blatantly tragic. But, these tears were unforeseen. I was so gripped by the words tumbling out of Jared’s mouth and felt so much of Aly’s confounding reactions; both trepidation and assurance that I was shocked by my body’s reply to such a meek action driven scene. There was no sudden death; no heartless break-up but there in front of me, laid the most compelling words of admission. That scene & that exact moment so early into the book, made me see the depths of Jared’s character & I knew that this book would not come to me quietly.

This review would not be done properly if I didn’t express to you how taken I was with Aleena “Aly” Moore’s character. I idolized her. The faith she embodied throughout the entire pages of this book was something that came without any reprieve. She never once faltered during the darkest and even through the most doubtful moments. Aly is Book Wife material; extraordinarily brave in the most humble of ways. Lyfe Jenning’s lyrics to “Must Be Nice” reverberated in my mind as it is completely on point as to who Aly is to me; “strong as a lion, but still gentle as a bluebird.” I thank A.L. Jackson for giving me Aly.

The connection between Aly and Jared was palpable. Each and every word, touch, and look they shared, caressed my senses. I felt the thirst and desperation of their love for each other- the brute strength of the author’s words overwhelmed me. I could not believe how much I hung on to those words. There were no junctures in the entirety of this book which I skimmed through. Instead, I failed miserably in trying to slow down my pace in false hope that it would feed the endless pit of hunger for more the longer I stretched their story out. It’s an impossible task when the rhythm set by A.L. thrums so melodiously from start to finish.

This riveting story of love & forgiveness that could only belong to this beautifully broken boy and this courageously magnificent girl owned me. Come To Me Quietly did not come quietly… No, this book came with a resounding message that when we surrender ourselves to love, love does conquer all. Amor Vincit Omnia.
