The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan Review Blitz

room-mate_amazonThe last time I saw my best friend’s younger brother, he was a geek wearing braces. But when Cannon shows up to crash in my spare room, I get a swift reality check.

Now twenty-four, he’s broad shouldered and masculine, and so sinfully sexy, I want to climb him like the jungle gyms we used to enjoy. At six-foot-something with lean muscles hiding under his T-shirt, a deep sexy voice, and full lips that pull into a smirk when he studies me, he’s pure temptation.

Fresh out of a messy breakup, he doesn’t want any entanglements. But I can resist, right?

I’m holding strong until the third night of our new arrangement when we get drunk and he confesses his biggest secret of all: he’s cursed when it comes to sex. Apparently he’s a god in bed, and women instantly fall in love with him.

I’m calling bullshit. In fact, I’m going to prove him wrong, and if I rack up a few much-needed orgasms in the process, all the better.

There’s no way I’m going to fall in love with Cannon. But once we start…I realize betting against him may have been the biggest mistake of my life.

I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down! It’s been a while since I just devoured a book the way I did this one! Right from the beginning I was laughing.
The things Paige would thing about Cannon. Were so funny!

“I want to climb him like the jungle gyms we used to enjoy.”

“his large half-erect p*nis hanging between his legs like an anaconda escaped from the zoo”

The chemistry between Cannon and Paige was off the charts. Right from the beginning you could feel the sexual attraction between them. I also loved how they interacted with each other. It wasn’t all about the sex. Living together brought them together on a whole different level. They both never expected the intimacy that came with that. It was new for both of them.

The humor and embarrassing moments in this book I felt is what made this book for me. It was light and refreshing. The sex between Cannon and Paige was soooo hot! Cannon really knows how to bring out the best in Paige. Relax her and really let her be herself.
I loved that!

I also loved Enchilada too!!! I thought that was such a cute name for her dog!

The only thing I really didn’t care for was all the internal dialogue between both characters. I felt there could have been less of it. And Cannon sister got on my nerves a little bit too. She was a little too much in both her best friend and brothers business.

But other than those two things. I absolutely loved this book! And I can’t wait to read the other books in this series!

Melanie’s 3-Star Review:

Kendall Ryan’s Roomate had me reading through the night wanting to find out if Paige and Cannon would find true love with one another. I loved the story line, with its forbidden element and its characters trying their damndest but miserably failing at ignoring the chemistry brewing between them. The continuous urge to act on their desires makes their eventual surrender that much more gratifying.

Cannon is Paige’s best friend’s little brother whom Paige hadn’t seen in a few years. While Cannon has held a lifelong crush on Paige he was merely Allie’s adorable, nerdy little brother who wanted to hang around them all the time. When Cannon comes knocking on her front door needing a place to stay for a couple of months while finishing off his residency,  Paige is knocked off her feet unable to recognize this chiseled, sex god who was suddenly all up in her space. I totally loved their reaction towards each other during their reunion. It was so realistic and funny at the same time.

The cat and mouse game that these two play was super fun to read. The lust and the physical hunger was undeniable and that came through loud and clear for me. What I was missing was the sweet and the swoon factor and OMG did I ever crave it! If these two elements could have come together, the physical sexual hunger and the swoon then this would have been a surefire 5 star for me. I loved the characters, especially their humor and entertaining banter.

Roomate is a nice quick read with a lot of heat which will most definitely keep the pages turning.
