she’d have to get out, Abbi left her world behind and boarded the plane with her
one way ticket to Los Angeles.

Relentless and fighting for her own
independence, it all goes to hell when fate throws a twist into her plans.
Everything changes the day she accidentally falls into the arms of Ryan. Tall,
dark eyed, and handsome CEO of LA’s hottest bodyguard service who is fighting
some dark demons of his own.

Can Abbi take a leap of faith and dare to
experience all that the world has to offer, accepting that fate has brought her
here into the arms of the man who will protect her? Protect her mind, body, and

I was given this book in exchange for  an honest review.
let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised!!
This is the authors first book In a 3 book series. And I think she did a fantastic job! I think she
had it all!
She had me laughing…A LOT…She had me shocked…
she had drama…
& 2 crazy ass best friends!!…lol
I liked the authors writing style… I found that the book flowed good.
Now…There was only 1 thing that I really didn’t care for. That’s why I couldn’t give this book a 5
& I’ll get to that in a bit.

Abbi Hastings came from a
very small town in Georgia. Living in a trailer… Living paycheck to paycheck.
Trying to save enough money to get out of her situation. She has some issues
with trusting people…mostly men.
She came across some money & she took
that money and ran with it! Packed as much as she could in a suitcase…&
start her new life… In a place where no one knew her or her story.
Purely by accident she landed herself a bartending job at a trendy new bar in LA. Her
boss Trent is the Bar owner & has the hots for Abbi… But also has a very
bad & very dangerous secret. Her two new & crazy co workers/
friends….Ashley & Judy also bartenders. Become fast friends!

I loved Abbi, Ashley & Judy’s smart mouth & white trash jokes!!…

“You better watch it buddy. I am from the south you know. We
watch wrestling in my trailer hood.”

“Honey, you aren’t in Georgia anymore and the owner of the bar isn’t your uncle. So no it’s not weird.”

Hell no. Listen you go over there and prance around for him a little and he will be begging you for a date. Then you let him wine
and dine you before you go back to his apartment and have hot monkey sex with him”

On her first night working she meets a very fine looking body guard!
That puts Abbi on edge right away!
Ryan Dixson… CEO of a bodyguard company he started once he got out of the military. & he’s quite the lady’s man! But
one look at at Abbi & right away… Ryan knew she was a game changer!

Sparks few once they first touched. He couldn’t stop thinking about her from that night on!
But… Dealing with issues from his past in the military drove him to stay away from Abbi.
Abbi couldn’t get Ryan out of her head too. Having issues with her parents growing up. Abbi was very reluctant to giving in to her
feelings with Ryan.
But she wanted to try with him & he didn’t take his chance.
Something he will always regret. Because something horrible happened to Abbi!
When I read what had happened to her! I was shocked! I kind of knew something was coming..
Well…after that night…things
changed for them!!

I loved the way Ryan treated Abbi!!

“Oh babe, don’t ever worry about having to do things for me. I am completely happy just having you in my life finally. I am sorry that I didn’t court you like I should have. I have been stupid about this from the very start and I promise that I will do my best to make up for that for as long as it takes. But please know that all I ever need to be happy, is to see you happy and smiling.”

He always made her feel cherished!!

“Abbi, may I kiss you?”

“Abbi, I am going to
make love to you tonight.”

I loved that!! Things between Abbi & Ryan are moving along pretty quickly.
While all this is going on with Abbi & Ryan…
Trent, Abbi boss is getting deeper in trouble & involving Abbi into his mess. Abbi knows something is up…she knows it’s bad too…

But all she can do it rely on Ryan to help & protect her.
The last 2 chapter are full of action! & the ending of the book leaves you with a slight
cliffhanger but also leaves you satisfied… Nothing to bad.

Now …The only thing I did not care for was the over use of descriptions of everything.
For example…
I like to know what they are wearing… I just don’t need to
know the whole process of it all.

But other than that one detail… I really enjoyed the book a lot! & I’m looking forward to reading the second
book in the Protected Love series!!

Thank You Jennifer Culbreth for writing a good book for all to enjoy!!

A Workplace Affair By Isabella Rae

Book Blurb:

There are those once in a lifetime opportunities that come along, that in your wildest dreams would never happen to you. When independent Victoria Bryant’s opportunity comes, a climb up the corporate ladder turns into an affair with the owner. Now she must make decisions that will change her life forever. Will she choose to forgive the man she’s grown to love, or watch him walk away and give up everything that might have been…..

When Leland Ambrose started his company he was young and in charge, but when he meets Victoria, he discovers a weakness he hadn’t counted on. A weakness so great that his company could pay the price. Will he stand up for the woman he loves, or protect the company he’s worked so hard to build….

Melanie’s 3.5 Star Review:

Let’s meet the cast-

Victoria Bryant is a beautiful career woman with an olive complexion, dark hair, and hazel eyes that leads the hero to fall madly in love with her at first sight. She is a dedicated employee to United Real Estate Investments who is working to make a name for herself and to climb up the ever challenging corporate ladder. Her personal life revolves around her friends and she is unbelievably loyal to them. I liked this most about her character but I also felt that this was her downfall.

Leland Ambrose, the man of the hour. Gorgeous, successful, and crazy romantic. He is the head honcho of United Real Estate Investments who sets his sights on Victoria. His character is definitely swoon worthy. He gives men a great name for themselves and would do absolutely anything for the heroine.

This book was a nice quick read. It reminded me of a modern day fairy tale with a hint of Pretty Woman (minus the prostitution bit) squeezed into it. The author does a good job with detailing the chemistry between Leland and Victoria; as a reader, I felt their connection and appreciated it. However, I do feel that the progression of their relationship was a bit too rushed for my taste. It could have had a smoother transition between the moments of love at first sight to declaring their love for each other.

The friendship between Sage and Victoria was also a big part of this book. As I had mentioned previous, the heroines loyalty towards her friends is both a blessing and a curse. I loved how the author portrayed their friendship with the “chicks before dicks” mentality. You don’t see that too often in many books these days. Sage being the “wing woman” doesn’t throw Victoria to the lions even though she has a lot to gain.. Instead she sticks by Victoria’s decisions. I do however feel like Victoria got the shorter end of the stick in this friendship as she sacrificed both monetary and her happiness for the sake of making Sage’s dreams come true.. It may be that the author meant for this to occur so that Sage could reciprocate on the follow-up of the Atlanta series. My very favorite part was the shower scene, the push and pull between the two characters created for a raw and passionate moment. It was also bittersweet and I felt for Leland and Victoria.

This book doesn’t leave us with a cliffhanger. It ends with a beautifully written happily ever after that’ll leave you smiling. For those looking for a romantic read, this book is for you. It has some wonderful dialogue and Leland Ambrose. 🙂

If Forever Comes by A.L. Jackson

Book Blurb:

If Forever Comes, the final chapter in the New York Times Bestselling series, Take This Regret.

Christian Davison’s life is complete. With a ring on Elizabeth’s finger and his daughter at his side, he’s ready to run headlong into their future.

Elizabeth Ayers never believed she would again find this kind of joy—the joy of a family and the wholeness found in the touch of the man she’s always loved.

Their love is intense and their passion only grows as they set out to rediscover each other.

But life is never easy.

Rocked by the unforeseen, Christian and Elizabeth will find themselves fighting for the one thing they hold most important—family

Melanie’s 5 (BIG) Stars Review:

Alright.. I want to do this book review justice for so many reasons..

1) A.L. Jackson is honestly one of my ultimate favorite authors, one of the very first that drew me into the world of my book obsession (no lies, not brown nosing.. just honest to goodness).

2) Her writing deserves nothing less.. Kinda like how I feel about books being adapted into screen..  As Hollywood should be held accountable for their portrayal of the words poured into book pages by authors, so should reviewers.

It is expected that when you pick up an A.L. Jackson novel, you are in for a world of emotional catastrophe. Her work is organically hypnotizing that it leaves you utterly consumed from the very first page to the very last.

If Forever Comes is the final chapter of Christian’s and Elizabeth’s story (for those who have not read the previous books in the Take This Regret Series, I highly suggest that you pick those up before reading this final book). When Amy first announced that Christian and Elizabeth’s story was going to continue after Take This Regret, I was thrilled along with all of her fans… Then she started releasing teasers and I just thought, “Dear Lord, can these two ever catch a break?!” As the teasers continued, I knew we were all in for a gripping ride.

Amy takes this book to a whole new level of emotional turmoil. I am so proud that she delved into a topic that others may feel as taboo or a subject too sacred to write a non-fiction about.. But you know what? If anyone could do it, it is this author. The entire pages of this book were tragically poetic, a semblance of Edgar Allan Poe’s woeful works.

I enjoyed reading a more sultry side of Amy’s writing. I think she did an immense job with expressing the sexual relationship between Christian and Elizabeth- managing to give us hot and steamy but at the same time keeping her melodious style in tact. And just as you’re settled, smiling, and feeling like these two have finally earned what they deserve; you’re then taken into the most deplorable abyss.

What Christian and Elizabeth experience in If Forever Comes, ripped me to shreds. It tore at the very bottom recesses of my heart. If you are like me, the books that I read really do affect my mood- hot and sexy, funny and lively, sad and depressing.. Sometimes my husband has accused me of having multiple personality disorder. LOL. So you can only imagine what this book did to my psyche. My Saturday was completely shot because their story stuck with me even for every minute that I wasn’t reading. I was left with a heavy heart and a lump in my throat. I felt for the characters- the loss they are dealt with, unlike many books out there is one that is out of anyone’s control. A specific scene which I will not divulge for the sake of spoilers, swallowed me whole. It devoured me and it left me feeling helpless. It was raw and it was ridiculously heart shattering. I can’t even imagine how Amy went about writing the words she did to express the emptiness and battle that Elizabeth was going through. To be expected to give up something substantial for the rest of your life is not easy to put down into words.

I was relieved to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I became so emotionally invested during the entire course that I literally felt uplifted when these two characters and their family received the vindication they so deserved. Amy does a masterful job with the epilogue as the ending to the final chapter of Christian, Elizabeth, and Lizzie’s story.

Superb..Glorious..Stunning!! Hats off and a standing ovation to you, Amy! I am so blown away for experiencing the story of these characters. The entire Take This Regret series comes highly recommended by me.

 Words Worth Highlighting:

“Gradually the lines of that beautiful face came into focus, and for a moment, my gaze got lost in the amber warmth of her soft brown eyes. Devotion pumped steadily through my veins. I loved her. Loved her with everything, with my life, with my soul.”

“Perfect. You are absolutely perfect, Elizabeth. No one compares to you. No one… It was her. Only her.. The only one there’d ever been.”

” I get to spend my life with my best friend….There’s nothing more perfect than that.”

“Because this wasn’t about betrayal, not something she or I had caused. This was something that neither of us could control. This was unfair, unjust. This was torture.”

“I loved this man. He was everything, beauty and light, my rock, the other piece of my soul…”

“Even though each step was measured, in reality, I was running toward him. Running toward my forever. Because I realized I didn’t have one without Christian. He was my all.”

Cage by Harper Sloan

Book Blurb:

Greg Cage was born to protect. While growing up, he was his mother and sister’s shield against the world… until he failed. For the last decade, he has carried that guilt and need for vengeance around… until it was stripped from him. Now, with his best friend getting married and no longer needing his protection, he is even more lost, completely adrift, and desperate for some control. All he has ever known was how to protect: his family, his friends, and his country. Can he go against everything he has ever known, and give up that control?

Melissa Larson will never let anyone hold the reins in her life. She has been the rock in her family for more years than she can remember, and the fight to keep them together is her main priority right now. She has always been fiercely independent and proud. The last thing she will ever do is ask for someone else’s help. But when that choice is out of her control, forcing her to rely on others to save her and her family, and pick up the pieces that are left, will she be able to let someone else be her strength?

The second Greg locks eyes with Meli, he knows that she is someone he needs. Someone he craves. Meli knew the second she met Greg that he would be nothing but trouble and heartache. Her life takes an unexpected turn, and that bitch Fate is back to wreak more havoc on another member of the Corps family.

All hell breaks loose, leaving Greg no choice but to call in a favor. He hooks back up with his old friend Braxxon Breaker from the Breakneck MC. Together, they make sure that nothing threatens anyone Greg loves again.

Melanie’s 5 Star Review:

It is noted on the book blurb that; **Warning** This book is intended for a mature reading** and boy does it ring true! This book got me so hot, I was ridiculously afraid I’d impregnate myself. That said, Harper Sloan’s follow-up to Axel was also much more than the sinfully sexy writing. Cage encompassed all my expectations. This book exuded all of the colors of the rainbow.

1)    Hot guy who lives to protect those he loves

2)    A provocative, brave, and bad ass heroine (my very favorite kind)

3)    An “OMG, no way” twist in the story

4)    An electrifying and sizzling chemistry between the hero and heroine

5)    The Corp Security Gang

6)    An emotional ride guaranteed to have you clutching your hand over your heart

7)    Laugh out loud moments- Sway and his golden glitter (enough said!) and wieners (yep, the good kind).

Alright let’s get to it as I am dying to share my thoughts with you all.

Hot guy alert with a heart of gold- I cannot, cannot express enough how BIG this guy’s heart is. He chewed me up in Axel but he swallowed me whole, spit me back out, and commenced to eat me up and swallow me back down in this book. Greg Cage, a modern day Michael the Archangel; the ultimate patron of protection is driven by the death of his twin sister, Grace. Believing that he somehow failed to protect her, he lives with a guilt deeply embedded in his heart. His need to protect women is awakened in Harper’s first novel, Axel. Izzy becomes his source of focus and dedicates his life in making sure that she exorcises her past demons. This gorgeous, virile, hunk of a man finds himself lost amidst the unneeded protection because Izzy now has Axel to look after her. Now, ladies (and gentlemen), I fell madly, deeply in love with Greg Cage. He’s like a mixed fun size bag of your very favorite chocolates.

Melissa “Meli” aka Beauty- I had a major girl crush on her. She is a stunner with a no nonsense attitude. Weighed down by the responsibility of being her family’s primary care taker, she has built a wall around her heart to remain stoic and focused on being a provider. Meli has experienced a remarkable loss which I believe greatly influences her character. If you have read any of my past reviews you all know how much I get off on bad ass heroines- this book has just that! Meli gets down with the hair pulling, throws punches and insults better than a man. Her best character trait though is her indifference towards gossip and other people’s petty actions. She always stood by Greg and never left any space for misunderstanding to get between them (Greg does a fine job of doing that himself). Lastly, you must all know that even though I don’t bat for the same team, I am a total tit connoisseur as is our Greg. Yes, I said it… Alert the milk stands. J Melissa had all the S’s that make a deadly heroine in my book (pun intended): Sexy as Sin, Strong, Smart, and Sassy.

The static chemistry between Greg and Melissa is well executed. The author did an outstanding job with giving us two characters that have a massive hard on for each other’s physical and emotional needs. The twist in the book was smart and well thought out. It gives her readers a really good idea that she has thought through her characters as well as storylines. There have been books where the twist in the story just DOES.NOT.WORK. It leaves a reader highly let down and in other cases, pissed off.  When I got to the part that the f’d up connection is revealed, I was beside myself- the slap my thigh, “oh no friggin’ way” kinda reaction. Way to mess up with your readers heads, Harper! LOL.

There were lots of heart- warming moments. Ones that really tug on the bottom of my heart strings, were those which Greg expressed his love and commitment to Melissa. He was so reassuring both in words and actions that it really made me believe of a long lasting future for them. Greg’s natural ability to be a father figure to Melissa’s nephew, Cohen, was the final icing to the triple chocolate Cage cake.

Finally, it was nice to get a chance to see what Axel, Izzy, and Nate were up to. It’s always a treat to get little snippets of past characters as well as future ones (Oh, we are SO ready for Dee and Beck!)

I give praise to Harper Sloan for writing a fabulous follow up in her series and we look forward to enjoying each and every alpha male of Security Corps.

Cody Garrett, a former Navy SEAL, has never met a skirt he didn’t fancy. His six-pack, rugged looks and bad boy image, ensures a steady stream of hot babes waiting to slip him their phone numbers wherever he goes.
So, he is confused when Bridie Barker refuses to go on a date with him. It’s not like she’s a stunning beauty or something. According to him, her ears are big, she’s well-rounded and she’s not even a ‘d’ cup.
In spite of her shortcomings, the more she pushes him away, the more he finds himself thinking of her.
Bridie Barker has control issues, every detail in her life is planned. Her closet is color-coded and she has an array of storage contains so that nothing is out of place. Her whole world is black and white and grey areas are a no-no. She prefers it that way, it keeps her focused and prevents her from becoming the crackhead her mother was.
When she meets the refined, yet warm and grounded Scott Garrett, she thinks she has found her soul mate. Unfortunately, and to her disappointment, things don’t pan out with Scott.
While waiting tables, she has a disastrous run-in with his brother, the wild Cody Garrett, King of Body Shots and who parties every night with a different girl. Even though he’s good to look at and makes her laugh, she turns down his advances as he’s clearly the tag-and-release kind of guy, while she doesn’t believe in one night stands, no matter how meaningful they are.
Besides, she is pretty sure he owns not a single storage container and she certain that his closet is not color-coded. Problem is, Cody Garrett won’t take no for an answer.
My Brother, My Rival is a sexy, modern-day, drama-laden love story that will have you laughing, crying and gasping with disbelief, as the story unfolds.
Wow….I loved this book!! It was entertaining & a fast read !! Could not
put it down!!
Where to start…
Bridie is a 21 year women…working as a cocktail waitress at a club called shot down…  she has 4 adopted siblings. Washington her brother is a bartender at the same bar Bridie works at and a gigolo , Buster her other brother is the unofficial sheriff of their neighborhood. He takes care of things when something goes wrong in the neighborhood & he works a bunch of odd jobs,  Lola her sister Is a stripper and loves her feather boas,  Khatija her other sister is a drug counselor… & doesn’t take shit from anybody!
Bridie is the baby in the family. & they all have something In common…their past…they all had parents that were into drugs & treated them badly. They are a tight net family. Always looking out for each other.
Cody On the other hand grew up with money. He was a fromer navy seal… works only special missions & Has a aviation company with his father. His parents are still married & he has a brother Scott a navy Seal..& sister Jenna that works as a NCIS.
Cody first met Bridie at the club she works at as a cocktail waitress. Things get out if hand & Bridie ends up fired.
The next day Bridie was working at her other job & meets a very Handsome and charming man Scott. They hit it off & he tells her that he will call her… She never hears back from him.
Cody gets Bridie her job back at the club & charms his way into her heart!
They have a very up & down relationship.
When things are good for them they are good…but when things go bad..they are bad!!
I felt that Cody Was a immature player. He took Bridie for granted!
I didn’t like some if the things he said to her like…
“Now, that’s better,”  he said between kisses “don’t you feel better now that you surrender to me? huh? Don’t you? huh?”
He was an ass… & I really liked when Bridie was pissed at him… She didn’t take to much of his shit! She told him what she didn’t like!!!!
& I can’t tell you how much I loved her for standing up for herself!!!… I just hate reading these books where the girl is a damn doormat & never opens her mouth!!!
She made him work for it!!
Cody’s family… Well, mostly his mom could not stand Bridie at all… Once she found out that Bridie was adopted…she never gave her a chance. That was a big problem in their relationship…
I felt Cody never stepped up & confronted his mom about it! He basically left it on Bridie lap to deal with… Which I did not like.
When Cody found out that Bridie new his brother Scott…he Was definitely shocked and jealous…
I felt like Bridie gave it her all & Cody just wasn’t all in at times… Especially when he drinks (BODY SHOTS!!).
“I’m gonna make mistakes and do the wrong things sometimes, ‘cos I’m a dumbass,” he said “I’m going to piss you off at times because…because I hate confrontation and my family… they’re always out of line. I just may not tell them to fuck off Then and all the time,  but you have my permission to tell them off. Whatever you say it’s okay by me”
Man….was Cody’s mom evil… I wanted to drop kick her!!…
I thought Bridie would have said something to her since she was not taking any shit from her..but she never did..really…she felt it was Cody’s place to talk to his mom & stick up for her.
Even though Cody was a dumbass and kind of a caveman….I truly felt he loved Bridie…he showed it to her all the time…I just didn’t like how he said it to her sometimes!!..
“You’re such a bitch, you know that? you refuse to date me, you make me fight for you, then you ditch me a party, then you won’t let me fuck you and you got me chasing after you like this. you’re fucking with my headspace, Bridie”
Towards the end.. Their were some serious miscommunication and some heartbreak. That I thought could have been avoided…I did not agree how Bridie handled certain things…& I felt things got way out of hand… Also too I really did not like what Cody did to Bridie in a certain part in the book!!!…I’m not going to say what part…but that went to far…I didn’t like that at all…
At the end of this book….It was left with a little cliffhanger…nothing to bad where your ready to throw your kindle at the wall!!!
I can’t wait to read Book 2 coming out on Sept 5!!
I would definitely recommend this book to other people!!!
**I was given this book by the author for an honest review…**

Freeing Asia: By E.M. Abel

Book Blurb:

How does a tomboy raised in a house full of men find the sensual woman inside of her? Growing up with a widowed, retired Marine as a father and two older brothers taught Asia to be tough. But how does she stop being one of the guys and learn to find the right one?

Finding herself won’t be easy, finding love will be even harder.

Meeting Jay opens Asia’s eyes to the possibility of love and unbelievable sex but can his country club world accept the woman more comfortable in torn jeans and flip flops? Or will she find the love she yearns for in the tattooed arms of her first love, a pro skater who has come back into her life?

With the possibility of new love or closure from a painful first love, finding her path is riddled with uncertainty and discoveries but before she can follow her heart she must first set it free.

Melanie’s Review (5 Stars):

This was a book I could not put down for a second! I read through the entire thing in a matter of a few hours. I knew from the book blurb alone, that I was in for an enticing read. I mean, who doesn’t love unbelievable sex and a coming of age story involving a tattooed first love?!

Asia Fuller, raised in a household dominated by men and a lack of any maternal influence, fails to see both the inner and outer beauty she possesses.

“ I was the tomboy with no clue how to be the confident, sexy woman who men swooned over. I could party with the guys, and had no problem being their friend, but when it came to getting them to see me as anything more, I was at a loss.”- Asia

I absolutely adored Asia’s character. I understood exactly where her insecurities stemmed from. The author did an amazing job with the heroine- she didn’t force Asia’s self innocence down on us but rather had a genuine purpose of highlighting her insecurities for Asia’s journey of self discovery.

Her journey begins after meeting Jay. A “suit” with beautiful dark blue eyes who has an instant connection with Asia.

“When I met his deep dark blue eyes, it took me second to look away. My entire body tensed, and I instantly felt butterflies in my stomach… this man was gorgeous, and he was staring at me. His smile widened , I could see his teeth were perfect and white , and he had very sexy dimples. It was hard to tear my gaze away because his eyes were so captivating.” – Asia’s first impression upon meeting Jay at a sushi bar

With Asia’s make-over courtesy of her flamboyant friend, Nick, she joins the rest of her friends to a night out of town. As with many romances, this little thing called fate interferes and leads Jay and Asia’s paths back together at a popular club. The connection they have for each other is still just as potent as it had been from the first time they met. Asia loses her senses and decides to step away from the situation. While thinking through these feelings, she is confronted by a meat head, douche bag and all hell breaks loose.

“He shouldn’t have underestimated me because I was a female. I didn’t care how big he was. If he were to touch me again, I would not hesitate to punch the shit out of him.” – Asia

How friggin’ bad ass is this girl?! Jay must also think so because he comes barreling through like a knight in shining armor to help alleviate the situation. This leads the two of them to get to know each other and to fall for each other. While Jay and Asia share many things in common, they are also from different worlds.

“His life was full if champagne and caviar while mine was filled with beer and barbecues.”

Though their chemistry is undeniable, their relationship fails to move to the next level because if the pressures that Jay has from his impending future to take over his father’s role as CEO. He shields Asia away from that part of his life, causing her to feel as if she’s his dirty little secret.

I was in a crossroads between being team Jay or team Marcus even before Marcus makes his re-appearance into Asia’s life. The author provides us with lots of intimate flashbacks throughout the book and it honestly made me feel like I was reliving scenes from my past. *sigh* When doubt starts to creep into Asia’s mind regarding her relationship with Jay, Marcus comes walking back into her world after years of zero contact. This is when everything starts getting yummy and interesting.

“Marcus was still perfect. He was beautiful, even sexier than I remembered. It sucked.” – Asia

The impending reunion between Asia and Marcus comes quickly once Jay fails to make the commitment happen. Asia had always known that Marcus was the only one for her, it is just now that she fully accepts this fact. Marcus does not disappoint, he makes amends for his past mistakes and puts his heart on the line for the first time in his life.

“I’m sorry babe. I’m sorry I hurt you. I was stupid. I fucked up. I thought I was doing you a favor by keeping things light. I thought I was helping you when I left. But now, I see… it was the biggest mistake of my life. You gave me something precious, you have yourself to me, and I threw it away. I’m not makin’ that mistake again, babe. Never again.” – Marcus

I fell in love with Marcus and Asia. They shared a past that I believe made their relationship stronger. It made them remember not to take each other for granted and to spoil each other with the intimacy and the adoration that they had wasted all those years past. As with all love stories, just when the good got going, the bad came-a-comin’…Tragic events rolls through town leaving a heaping pile of mess for the reunited duo. Marcus F’s up and Asia starts rebuilding the walls around her heart… All the while, Jay realizes exactly what he set free. It was at this point of the book, that crocodile tears were coming down hard! I was trying so hard to not sniff so loudly to wake my 2 years old son!  My heart broke for Asia and I was so pissed off at Marcus. Do not fear, readers- he totally redeems himself and it will make panties out there melt.

The characters come full circle through forgiveness and acceptance. This is a stand alone and there are no cliff hangers which will drive you mad. There is a happily ever after that will have you smiling for days to come.

My take away from this book was really based on the heroine- don’t get me wrong, the love story and the steamy sex scenes did me in too but Asia’s character was written so strongly. I admire that the author was able to do this for her readers. Asia was a woman who did not realize her self worth in the beginning of the book. She came out in the end as a fierce, lovable, and enthralling young woman. She freed herself from her demons and along that journey, found a love so worth the years of heartache.

About the Author:

My husband is awesome and also a Chief in the US Navy. This means crazy schedules, uncertainty and lots of nights spent alone writing on my computer.
I have two amazing kids who always know how to make me laugh.
I’ve been passionate about writing ever since I wrote my first poem in the 3rd grade and I’ve been using it as a means to express myself ever since.
I think because I hold my emotions so close and fear being vulnerable I use different forms of self expression- writing, drawing, painting, photography, tattoos- to show the world who I am.
The one rule I use everyday is the Golden Rule—”Treat others the way you’d like to be treated.” I believe karma is very real and sometimes she can be a bitch if you make her that way.
I love acting crazy, I love to laugh, I love making people laugh, I love the ocean, I love dancing like no one is watching, I love good music, I love good books… and I love my family, friends and readers. It’s crazy that I feel a connection with people just because they read something I wrote, but I do. It’s an awesome feeling.
