Under the bright arena lights of a rodeo show, young Avelina Belo falls for a handsome cowboy with a larger-than-life personality. After a whirlwind courtship, she happily moves away from her family in northern California and settles into married life with her cowboy on a seven-thousand-acre cattle ranch in Montana. Dear Jon Release Date!

Lori L. Otto, author

It’s decided! Dear Jon will be released on Tuesday, August 26th! This is the third book in my Choisie series, so if you need to catch up, check out this page for info on where to buy Contessa and Olivia!

Here’s a little tidbit from one of Jon’s flashbacks of… well, it was a special night in the lives of Jon and Livvy.

“Maybe we should swim tonight, before we settle in,” I’d suggested.

“You’re crazy, right?”

“Some of us have never been in water like this,” I reminded her.  “This is nothing like the Atlantic.”

“Jon, we can barely see what’s in the water!”

“What water?” I asked, picking her up swiftly in my arms and wading further into the surf, toward the moon.

“Jon!” she shrieked.  “You have no idea how deep it is!”

“Well, I know you can swim, so…”  I kept walking, my pants now…

Seductive Nights Series by Lauren Blakely Review

Melanie’s 5-SOLID star Review:

Lauren Blakely’s Seductive Nights series had a crashing effect on me. The mind blowing, scintillating, over bearing cosmic love affair between Clay Nichols and Julia Bell had my blood pumping directly to all the right places. The intensity between these two started from the get go and never ever let up. I savored each and every page.

Julia is not only enthralling in Clay’s eyes but mine as well; her character was fierce. Never once letting up on her troubles, facing it head on with her chin held high. This amazed me as she hypothetically took the bull by its horns and owned that rodeo. Not only did I love that she chose not to become a victim throughout the entire series, but I was kissing the very ground she walked on because this woman had a sexual prowess made to elicit pleasure that was nothing less than what she knew she craved and deserved.

Now enter Clay Nichols. Oh sweet baby Jesus… here comes Clay Nichols. This man made me feel things I haven’t felt since the likes of Brayden Carmichael from On Dublin Street, Christian Grey from FSoG, Travis Maddox from the Beautiful Disaster series, and Jesse “the Lord” Ward from the This Man series… So what I’m trying to say here is that Clay Nichols has become part of my most favorite Alpha Males in all book history. I was clearly taken aback by this… Not at all expecting that coming out of reading this series, I’d find to be adding on this very elite list. Lauren Blakely perfected his character—the right balance both in the literary world and real life. He was protective and domineering without the scary, stalker persona. How the author was able to portray that is extraordinary because quite frankly not many could ever in their wildest dreams pull off such a thing… Even some of those book boyfriends listed above didn’t have the semblance of the perfect balance. I was head over heels for him. I swooned over how much he truly loved Julia and his natural instinct to protect her without drowning out her own independent nature. The delicious things that not only came out of his mouth but also the many titillating things he’s able to do with the same mouth was sensational… The best dirty talker EVER… EVER! There were many loud gulps taken, many panty melting moments happening, and I ate all of it up. Like a starved person dropped smack dab in the middle of the best Vegas buffets around. I ate and I ate and I ate.

The beauty of this series lay mostly in the profound chemistry between the two characters but what I also want to point out was how brilliant Lauren Blakely was able to mix romance and suspense together. The whole romantic suspense worried me when I read through the blurb but she completely shot down any worry I had as the plot continued to develop. She had just the right amount of mobster to keep the knots in my stomach going without it turning cheesy. Another aspect that I usually dislike in books is the 3rd person narration because many times I find it to be so robotic and boring, however this series once again trumped any of that worry. The pace was perfectly executed and the dialogue completely free flowing.

A solid 5-star read for every one of the books in this series, truly I cannot say enough about them. My biggest regret in all of this is not reading this sooner. I highly, highly recommend this series and promise you all a sexy, exciting, and swoon worthy ride.

Title: When You Were Mine ( A Moreno Brother’s novella)

Author: Elizabeth Reyes

Genre: Contemporary

Release Date: Fall 2014

When her head was
screaming “enough,” her hopeful heart continued to whisper “wait
It’s the only way
Valerie Zuniga can justify her ongoing addiction to the amazing but ever,
elusive Alex Moreno. Mesmerized by the profound connection neither has
ever quite understood, Valerie  accepts their crazy relationship for what
it is—non-exclusive.
That is until the
incredible highs no longer numb the sting of the intense lows.
As tasteless and
slippery as pride can be, for Alex it’s always been the hardest pill to
Faced with a final
ultimatum, the choice is a no-brainer for Alex. Despite his insanely busy life
he’s determined to prove to Valerie, that not only is he ready to commit, it’s
what he’s always wanted—to claim Valerie as his exclusively.
But just as it kept
him from admitting his real feelings all those years, will his obstinate pride
once again step in and ruin things just when they’re finally getting it right?

“Why are you
here?” she demanded.

“I wanna talk to you?” he asked hopefully.

“No,” her response was too quick—abrupt. “I’m busy now. Try me
another time.”

Okay maybe he deserved that. But he knew she wasn’t busy. He knew he had to
convince her to hear him out. Alex was determined to say everything he came
here to say to her tonight. And then he saw it. The movement behind her. His
eyes zeroed in on a guy sitting at her small kitchen table looking equally as
relaxed as Valerie texting something on his phone and there were two glasses of
wine on the table.

Alex took him in for another second from top to bottom as the slow boil inside
him began to bubble. The guy put his phone down then reached for the bottle of
wine and poured them each a little more.

On instinct Alex put his hand on the door in case she even thought of trying to
slam the door on his face. That wasn’t happening now. And any hope of this night
ending amicably like he’d been optimistic about was instantly squashed. He
turned to Valerie whose earlier incensed eyes looked a little panicked now.
“Who the fuck is that?”

Without Hesitation by CJ Azevedo Release Blitz!

At eleven years old, Macie James was certain she saw her prince standing in her kitchen with his rosy cheeks and cute smile. She was going to marry that boy, she had no doubt about it. As she became a teenager, it was that boy who taught her how to become a confident and sure woman. As the years went by and they grew up, he taught her how to love and to be loved.

Greyden Michaels was surprised when he fell for his best friend’s little sister. He wasn’t opposed to it and, even more surprising, neither was his best friend. When he was in college and her just in high school, he realized they were too young to be committed, he opted for friendship with her and together they decided their love was for the future.

When you hesitate, life happens. When life happens, your plans change. Macie wanted her fairy tale and Greyden was prepared to give it to her when unfortunate events changed his whole life, including his future with the UFC and, most devastatingly, with her. Macie made the decision to live her life, to move on without Greyden, especially once she met the man who wanted to marry her and give her the life he couldn’t.

The problem with that was that Greyden had always seen her as his. Could he give her up completely for her supposed happiness or could he somehow manage to get his life in order to try and win her back, heart and soul?

“I don’t know what happened!” she wails. “I don’t know where it all went wrong and I don’t know where to begin to fix this, Grey.”

Cradling her to my body, I carry her to bed, laying her down beside me while she continues to cry. I brush her hair back from her face and kiss her forehead.

“I literally feel broken inside, like I’m not working right anymore.” She sniffles, hiding her face.

“You’re not broken, Butterfly, maybe just misfiring a little. We’ll get you back in working order, I promise.”

“That’s the problem, though, I don’t know how or where to start. I used to have it all figured out, ya know?” She takes a shuddering breath. “We were so young, but we knew what we wanted. Before. I was certain that you were all I needed. If I had you and we had our family like we talked about.” She laughs through her tears; it hurts my heart. “All the time, I thought that was all that mattered, that nothing could touch us.” I’m at a loss for words as she wipes her face off and gets a little more comfortable. “I mean, what eleven year old knows what boy she wants to marry and actually gets him for a good amount of time before she does something stupid and throws it all away?”

I get up off the bed and pace. She’s going to take our whole history, blame herself for it, and then blame it as the cause for where she is currently. Not happening. I swallow hard as I try to focus on the main priority here, getting Macie to a place where she can get back to her normal. “Butterfly, you need to start by realizing that when we went wrong, it was only because it wasn’t our time to be right. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. There’s no telling what would have happened if you would’ve stuck around, so there’s no use in playing the ‘what if’ game with it. Okay?”

Bailey Hayes has a past that is currently affecting her present. Ten years ago she made a decision that suited her at the time. Now because of that decision she finds herself extremely successful in her chosen career but extremely unhappy in a relationship she thought was her forever.

Bailey met, fell in love with and moved in with Hollister Harrison six short months after meeting him. Hollister’s true colors shine through epically when he no longer has his personal space to contain them.

Talon McAllister loves his family, his family’s marketing firm that he runs along side his sister and the game of hockey. He plays hard and works even harder but leaves no room for any one woman exclusively. That is until he meets the lovely and ultimately sexy Bailey.

Can Talon convince Bailey that her twisted sense of loyalty and commitment to her boyfriend is absolutely unnecessary and dangerous?

Will Bailey miss out on the greatest love she will ever know due to fear of repeating her past of quick decision making?Or will Talon show Bailey that she can live and love without boundaries?
Ava Sterling is tough and the most straight laced girl you will ever meet. Her family and her past have managed to alter her future permanently and she has no desire to allow anyone else into her life or her heart for fear of rejection or further altering. Ava is alone in the world with the exception of the grandest responsibility she did not create on her own but on her own she will carry for the rest of her life.
Declan James is a MMA fighter, party all night kind of guy. Responsibility is nowhere to be found in his life or so he allows everyone around him to believe. Coming from wealth and a carefree lifestyle, Declan gets what he wants, always. And what he wants is Ava. In his pursuit of getting what he wants, Ava in his bed, his plan changes quickly without his consent. Against his plans of being the next hot bachelor to cross the tabloids as he makes his way to being the Ultimate Light Heavyweight Champion, Declan falls in love. He falls in love without hesitation and without doubt.

Being a dreamer her whole life, CJ had big plans as a child to move to New York and live the city life. She wanted to escape the small country town she grew up in and be an independent woman. The dreaming never stopped, changed a little but never stopped. Instead she married a boy from that small country town and decided to somewhat travel together. One day, living in Northern California they decided to pack up and move to Texas, just because. That’s where she resides today doing what she loves the most… mothering her children, loving her Husband and living vicariously
through all of the stories she gets to create and write up daily.

Haley has just turned eighteen and is ready to learn about love and shed some of her innocence. After a traumatic birthday party, she wakes up tied to a bed at the mercy of the person she trusts most.

Haley has always been his pet, but now William wants more. He wants to to love her as every Daddy should love their little girl

Warning: There is sweetly sexy, explicit dirty fun inside this short novella. Along with DD/LG play.

Wow.. Where do I start…lol
This short story was interesting to say the least.
I felt it was a little much in some place… Pretty hot in others… I had mixed emotions about this book!!…

I’m not going to lie…
William calling himself daddy and him wanting Haley to call him daddy & her wanting to call him daddy… Was a lot to take In. And him calling Haley his little girl or daddy’s little girl…
It’s was hard to get past…
It just didn’t seem right. Their dirty talk was kind of creepy…lol

I know Haley is supposed to be innocent and all.
But, some of the things that came out of her mouth were just unbelievable.
In this day in age… Even going to an all girls private school.
She should know about sex. Especially if your dad put you on birth control. I’m sure they gave her the talk about safe sex when they gave her that shot.

It’s weird…even with all that…it drawls you in. I read it all in one sitting. It was a fast & easy read.
Can’t really say much about this book…it is what it is…

I am looking forward to reading Beauty Owned the Beast…

Would I read more by this author…yes I would…

TAKE – verb: to reach for and hold in one’s hands or get into one’s possession, power or control.

Logan Mitchell is a man who’s always been more than happy to take what he wants. It’s a philosophy that’s proven lucrative in both his business and personal life, and never was it more apparent than the night he laid eyes on Tate Morrison. After pulling out all the stops and convincing the sexy bartender to give him a try—he’s hooked.
Now, Logan finds himself in a predicament that demands more from him than a smart-ass answer and his innate ability to walk away when things get too deep.
He has a choice to make, and it’ll force him to do something he’s never done before—take a chance.

Tate Morrison knows all about taking a chance. He took the biggest one of his life the night he showed up at Logan’s apartment to explore his unexpected reaction to the man.
Ever since then, he’s thought about little else.
At first he was convinced his attraction was based solely on his body’s curiosity. But the more time he spends with the silver-tongued lawyer, the more Tate realizes that their physical chemistry is only the beginning.
He’s starting to catch a glimpse of what life with Logan would be like, and it’s one full of excitement and satisfaction—a far cry from what he had in the past with his soon to be ex-wife.

Each man will face their fears as they begin to understand the true meaning of give and take. Their feelings for one another will be tested, as will their very beliefs. But now that they’ve found love where they least expected it, will they be brave enough to reach out and take it?

I was completely blown away by this book. Truly blown away. It had just enough of everything.

I don’t even know where to start! Right away I could tell the difference between the first book and the second.
I wasn’t really feeling the first book. Logan kind of got on my nerves.
But… This book… Just felt different. More rounded out.
I loved how the drama in this book wasn’t over the top. And I loved that they didn’t do anything to each other that I would have work through and forgive them.
I loved how the relationship took form. The whole relationship just felt natural.
The sex in this book was just so damn hot!!…all I have to say about that is olive oil and bruschetta!!…lol
I will never think of those two things the same way again!!

I felt for both Logan & Tate. They have been through so much.
Logan had to deal with his past In order to move on to have a future. And Tate had to make a tough choice concerning his family in order to be happy.

I really loved this book. I can’t wait to read the third book in this series!!

The way the book ended…It should be really interesting to find out what happens! I’m sure it will test Logan & Tate’s relationship!!

Can’t wait!!

Up & Coming Author Spotlight: Louise Bay

One of the very best things about being a blogger is the opportunity to share with fellow book lovers a chance to discover up and coming authors.

So, we are happy to be bringing you all, Louise Bay who is the author of Faithful and Hopeful. We sat with Louise for a bit of a Q&A session….

Check it out!

Q.What inspired you to write your first book?
A.I was reading a lot at the time and I wasn’t working and I started to think about ideas for a book. About the same time I looked up my first crush online who turned out to be super successful and that was the start of Faithful! Daniel and Leah’s re connection was based on real life events!

Q. How would you categorize your writing style?
A. I’m not sure I could! Light? sexy?
Q. Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
A. Reading is so personal, everyone will take something different from every book. But, if there’s a theme running through Faithful and Hopeful it’s that true love is worth waiting for.
Q. How do you come up with the titles of your books?
A. I find it so incredibly hard, which is why I still don’t have a title for my next book. Faithful came about because it seemed so appropriate. It was about Leah experiencing someone being unfaithful, it was about her having to learn to have faith in herself, it was about Leah and Daniel having faith in each other. Hopeful I think is all about being hopeless and hopeful – it’s about loving when all hope is gone.
Q. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
A. I think the hardest part is keeping going. There have been parts of all three books where I just want to give up because it seems such a daunting task. At times I have to give myself a timeout and then take a different approach, do some more detailed plotting and give my imagination a boost!
And some fun/personal ones…
Q. What book are you currently reading?
A. I’m just about to start re-reading Thoughtless. I love it. I can’t think how many times I’ve read it.
Q. First book boyfriend?
A. Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables or maybe Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. I read them both about the same time as a teenager. There is a special place in my heart for both of them!
Q.Have you attended any author events? If so, where and how was that experience? If not, which city would like to be your first?
A. I’ve not attended any yet. I’d love my first to be in London or New York! Any excuse to go to New York! But I love my city so it would be exciting to do a signing here.
Q. Tell us something no one knows about you.
A. When I’m by myself, I turn the music up loud and dance!
Q.What projects do you currently have going on?
A. At the moment I’ve just started my next book which will be a novella. It may be the first in a series. I’ve plotted it out and I’m really enjoying it. It’s written from Anna’s (who was Leah’s best friend in Faithful) point of view and it picks up where Faithful finished. It’s set in New York. I’m really enjoying writing it but I’ve not got a name yet!
We hope you enjoyed this Q&A session with Louise as much as we did!!!

Rex by Beth Michele Blog Tour & Book Review

Title: Rex (Finding Love #2)

Author: Beth Michele

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: Release Date July 3, 2014

It all started with a simple phrase.
Love Sucks

The moment Vanessa Hilliard walked into the tattoo shop uttering those two words was the day my life began its downward spiral.
Or maybe it’s the day my life began.
My name is Rex Grayson.
And this is my story.

The day I met Rex Grayson, I got a hell of a lot more than I bargained for. He sparked something inside of me — possibility. A word that never existed in my world before. He caused me to question who I was and made me want things I never dreamed were possible.

We’ve both got a mountain of shit in our past.

My name is Vanessa Hilliard. I have an affinity for the unusual and seriously twisted.
He thinks this is his story.
But it’s really mine.

Melanie’s 4.5 Star Review:

In this big, complicated world, we all secretly hope that somewhere out there lives the one person we are meant for. In Beth Michele’s Rex, both the female and male protagonist never considered that such a person existed, because hey, Love Sucks.

Beth Michele writes an incredible tale of two people, haunted by their pasts; living everyday with their heads just bobbing above water with just enough air to keep them alive. Not knowing that upon stumbling into each other, the breaths they soon breathe into each other would become just the thing to not only keep them alive, but for the first time, actually give them a reason to live.

Rex Grayson though physically stealth is anything but. Inundated with guilt and loss so unrelenting, he has punished himself by believing himself unworthy of happiness. He keeps his distance by having meaningless relationships, ones that consist of a slew of quick f*cks with faceless women as a way to keep his demons at bay. I loved, Rex. His dirty mouth, his very masculine persona had my tongue wagging right out of my mouth. But truly what I fell in love with came as Vanessa walked into his life– I thought THIS, THIS is who Rex Grayson is. A delicious mix of everything I could ever want in a book boyfriend– naughty (Rex is like WHOA), amazingly passionate about his creative profession, self-assured yet completely vulnerable, and by golly, he is incredibly sweet.

Rex 2

Vanessa Hilliard was quite a heroine in this book. Equally haunted by her past, she has sworn off the idea of love– so much so that she had the full intention of making that testament permanent on her porcelain skin. But as luck would have it, the very tattoo parlor she chose to walk into would be the best decision in her lifetime. I really admired Vanessa’s character. Given everything that she has had to deal with at such a young age, she fights against it and makes a life on her own the best way she could. Beth Michele did a wonderful job showing us that like Vanessa, our past shouldn’t define the future we choose to have. Vanessa had such grace, an unforced beauty with a loving heart.

Rex 3

The chemistry between Vanessa and Rex was out of this world. I was honestly blown away by some of the scenes and kept shooting out text messages to my blog partner at how hot and bothered I was. Everything between them just came so naturally, as if these two were meant to be on the pages together. I was not at all expecting the level of hotness I got out of this book. What a pleasant surprise this was!

Rex 1

Beth Michele did an incredible job with Rex. This had many, many of the elements I look for in a great book. She gave us the perfect background for both Rex and Vanessa, I knew exactly what the demons they were fighting against and why those have shaped them to be the way that they are. This allowed me to connect with the characters and I was highly invested in their chance of a happily ever after. I was honestly so impressed with how well written and well versed all the pages were– I was drawn in right at the very beginning and that gave me such a high, knowing that this was something I wouldn’t be able to put down.

And so you I’m sure you’re asking why I couldn’t give this the full 5-stars… There was something which I can’t fully wrap my mind around that just missed this mark for me. Before continuing this review, I was debating with myself because I hate not being able to pin point as to exactly where it didn’t all align for me. It may have been the pace of the book where it made it seem as if Vanessa forgave too easily, taking away from the seriousness of the situation for me or it could have been how readily “curable” Rex suddenly became after years of turmoil… Having said that, I enjoyed their story so, so much (so much so I couldn’t stop messaging the author squealing about certain parts) and I would highly recommend this HOT HOT read.

I subtly open my legs, hoping he might take the hint and move his hand where I really need it. Instead, he continues to drive me crazy with his calloused finger circling just above my knee.

His warm breath fans my neck, and I bite back the noise that wants to escape when his tongue makes contact with that sensitive spot behind my ear. “You taste so good,” he murmurs, “and I bet you’re already wet for me.”

“Beyond wet,” I whisper back, not wanting the taxi driver to hear and think that I’m a sex-crazed freak, even though I feel like one.

Rex inhales a jagged breath, his hand finally wandering higher up my thigh. “I can’t wait until my tongue can find out just how much,” he says quietly. And when I glance up at him, his eyes denote a hunger that lights a flame inside of me. One that’s been buried for quite some time.

I press my lips together, staring out the window in an attempt to distract myself. My skin tingles with anticipation as I try to rein in my breathing that is currently out of control. But I don’t have to wait too long. Within minutes, the taxi pulls up in front of his building.

Rex pays the driver and practically jerks me from the seat, latching onto my hand as we fly into the building like two sex-starved lunatics. He hesitates the moment we enter the glass door, glancing up at the flight of stairs then back to me. With a devious grin, he scoops me up under my knees and I let out a yelp of surprise.

“Ahh! What on earth are you doing, Rex?” I laugh, my head dropping back.

He continues striding up the stairs with purpose. “What does it look like I’m doing?”

“Why are you carrying me? I can walk, you know.”

“Blondie, shut up and kiss me,” he demands. “I need motivation for climbing.”

Brooke Reid is a woman looking for her happily ever after, and the day she literally ran in to him, she thought she’d found it. Charming, charismatic, a true gentleman – what more could she ask for? Things are going perfectly until her best friend struts in the elevator and claimed his lips right in front of her.

Savannah Prescott is interested in one thing, having a good time with every single man Denver has to offer. Being tied down is too much of a bore for her free spirited ways. Or so she thinks, but when her best friend starts dating her Friday night fling, she realizes she may be ready to turn in her game card and settle down into a real relationship.

When both girls come to the realization that they are after the same man, it means all-out war. Best friends until the end, or at least until him.

This is the first book that I’ve read by these two authors.
And…. I don’t think it’s going to be my last!!!
This book was funny & witty and had me hooked from the very first page to the last!!
I seriously could not put it down!!
I had strong emotions reading this book…I was all over the place!!
But, mostly…. I was just so anxious!! I had to know what was going to happened!!! I just couldn’t read fast enough!!

Right off the bat.. You know Savanna and Brooke are dating the same guy. And, You could tell how Luke aka Lucas felt about Brooke and Savannah right from the beginning too.
Savanna was more of a fun time girl.
& Brooke was more of the get to know you date /relationship kind of girl.
You just knew right from the beginning that it was going to get ugly and I felt for the both of them!!..
I started out on the fence about Luke.. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.
But…as I read on further…he confirmed my feelings about him. I didn’t like him at all!!
He was just to good to be true… And… a dirty little sneak!…lol

The whole time I was reading this book… All I kept thinking was… Why doesn’t Brooke and Savanna just get
together with Luke & just lay everything on the table!!!
A….he said she said thing!!!
It was just so extremely frustrating!!! I felt like it kept going around in circles!!!

But… As I read on… Everything just fell into place. & the real fun began! I loved everything Savanna and Brooke did. There was never a dull moment in this book with them.
And it was quite refreshing… I can’t remember the last time I read a book like this.

I Thought the writing style flowed good throughout the book. I loved the dual POV’s from both characters.
I can’t really say anything bad about this book..
But… If I had to…
There were just two thing that bugged me…& it was the way Luke talked.. Towards the end of the book…. He almost seemed kind of robotic….No emotions.
And, I wanted a little bit more from him. I wanted his POV on some of the things that happened in the book.
Other than that… This book is pretty flawless.

This book is the 1st book in a 3 book series. And I just can’t wait for the next book to come out! I’m hooked!!
