Loving a Warrior
Distraction is life or death. And just the sight of former marine Shane Hovland is enough to shake Matt’s concentration.
Shane came to BUD/S training ready to prove himself—again. Semper Fi is forever, but he needs a new start. Not this dangerous heat with a man he barely knows.
Everything they’ve ever wanted is riding on a thin, punishing line. And they’ll have to fight for more than just each other if they want to make it through intact.
After all, the only easy day was yesterday.
This book surprised me! I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve never read anything by this author before. Now, I can honestly say that I can’t wait to dive into her other books!
I really, really enjoyed this book! Shane and Matt’s journey to become the coveted Navy Seal was such a good read! This author takes us all along their journey in BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) training. Through all their wet and sandy exercises and so much more. These instructors mentally and physically break you down. And build you back up little by little. To get them ready for all the missions they are about to embark on.
We see different sides of both Shane and Matt throughout this book. Both of them needing each other for different reasons. So much of life getting in their way while in training. Both of them fighting and proving why they want to become a Seal.
What I really loved about this book was that it wasn’t all about the sex. We get a lot of built up. A lot of sexual talk and promises. It just made it so much better to to when they finally did do something. Little things here and there. They both build a relationship with the little time they had with each other. They never let their bad moods or all the obstacles that they thought were in the way get in the way with them.
I can’t wait for the next book coming out next year! Keeping a Warrior. It will be interesting to see how Shane and Matt hold up in their new relationship. And what life throws their way!
