Wheeler (Four Fathers #4) by Ker Dukey Review

Wheeler (Four Fathers #4)

Wheeler by Ker Dukey – Dark Suspense

I am dark. Calculating. A single father.
I have secrets that would horrify most people.
Stalking is a habit I refuse to break—and what happens after is a sweet reward.
My life is exactly the way I have designed it.
But an undeserving, sick monster is dating my only daughter.
Until I deal with my problem, I can’t truly enjoy everything I’ve created.
My name is Jax Wheeler.
I’m a twisted, evil, insane man.
People may be afraid of me, but it doesn’t stop them from wanting me.

I just want to get this out up front. I hate that this ends in a cliffhanger. I mean… why? All the other books in this series have ended and goes on to the next book. I mean… everything was promoted as a 4 book series. Why not finish this book like the others? I hate that. It’s one of my pet peeves in book series. And very misleading! There’s no mention at all as to when the next book will be coming out. I feel this book went in a whole other direction. It wasn’t bad. It did get my attention and held it throughout the book. But compared to the first two books in this series. The last 2 books in this series took a different direction.

I really enjoyed Blackstone and Kingston’s. Books.
With those book it was all about their sexual need and the chase of getting their women. But Pearson and Wheeler’s book took a turn. To be honest it just went off the rails!

Pearson’s book was more about revenge & humiliation it seemed to me. And this book is all about stalking and murder!
I mean what…

I honestly thought these books were going to be about older men getting with barley legal girls. And all the dirty things they wanted to do with them.
And I feel like that happens a little. Only in Pearson’s book. I mean… Eric was a giant A-hole. So you couldn’t enjoy the chase with him. The sex wasn’t even good to me. Because I hated how he treated Rowan in it.

I felt like in this book it was laying the groundwork down for the next book. Now that I know this book ends in a cliffhanger. It was more just getting to know Jax and how he got to be the way he is. As I was reading I kept wondering when something was going to happen. He clearly wasn’t interested in finding a woman to spend his life with. Oh no… he got his thrills in stalking and killing.
And that’s where you totally disconnect from the other characters in this series. It went from girls to killing.

Yes, I knew this book was going to be dark. But I thought a girl was going to set him free ground him.

I liked how this book tied in to the other books and there was no retelling of past events in a word for word rehash. I was pretty blown away about how much he lurked in the background!

Once we got to the party scene that was the ending of Pearson’s book. I was pretty excited. Because I wanted to know how it all ended. Boy… I didn’t see what happened next coming. I was pretty shocked.

I don’t know how this is all going to be played out. I feel like the other authors work would loose their voices if this series continues with additional characters (Eric’s sons). And crazy killing sprees. There really wasn’t a lot of Levi in this book. But Trevor I feel plays a big part in a way in this book and the next.

So… hopefully the next book comes out soon!!

Ker Dukey, Is based in the UK, where she lives with her husband and small children and also their beloved Goldendoodle, Murphy (who has yet to discover he isn’t, in fact, a human)

When she’s not lost in the world of her characters or being Mum, Ker likes to read and catch up with her followers on social media.

My books all tend to be darker romance, an edge of your seat, angst-filled reads. My advice to my readers when starting one of my titles, prepare for the unexpected.

I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bedtime stories with my sisters growing up.
My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made of light; some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.

When I’m not lost in the world of characters, I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum, and that comes first in my life, but when I do get down time, I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.Come find me on facebook where i love interacting with my readers.
