The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.
Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.
Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.
The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.
The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.
I finished this book in the wee hours because once I started, I couldn’t put it down!!! The banter between Drew and Emerie is by far one of the best and there is such a heartwarming element to this book. Vi Keeland is a ridiculous force, a keen talent for writing the best modern day romances. I couldn’t get enough of Egomaniac. It’s sweet, witty, with so many laugh out loud moments to go alongside the swoony ones. Goodness this is a TOTAL must read!
Drew and Emerie’s first chance encounter had me in a fit of giggles. I knew right then that the rest of the book would be wonderful and I wasn’t wrong. The dialogue sounded and felt so natural which made the characters that much more charming and loveable. And there was a whole lot to love about both of them. Drew Jagger def had moves like Jagger. His confidence and looks alone would make any woman weep from desperation for just one taste. But what really won me over when it came to Drew was his ability to love and care for those he let into his life. His protective nature mixed in with his sensitive side just had me losing any ability to control fangirling. God almighty did this man just hit me in all the right places!!! Straight to the heart and the lady bits. Yep, riiiiiiight there! Emerie is a breath of fresh air. I loved how snarky and sassy she was yet at the same time I found her quirkiness endearing. I really enjoyed her character a lot.
The chemistry between the two of them was legit, HOT! The spark that ignited from that fateful New Year ’s Eve night when they first met only grew hotter and hotter thereafter. Both having been burned in the past, they treaded and tip toed around one another in the romance department but the friendship and the trust that develops between them makes their coming together that much more meaningful. The hottie tottie scenes were explosive and had me oohh-ing and aaahh-ing even as my eyes strained after too many hours of binge reading. Drew and Emerie’s story had so much more than what I was expecting. It not only had swoon but it also had THE feels to go along with it. I love it when a story line goes deeper than what a reader originally expected it would be. Surprises like that when delivered perfectly is pure gold.
Vi Keeland just gets better and better each time. There is no denying that her writing style, inviting and seamless helps to make a genuine, down to your bones impact. Egomaniac has just about everything I love in a book and more. This right here, has to be your next read and of course it has my bookshelf worthy stamp of approval.
