Forgetting August by J.L Berg Review

She can forgive, but can she forget?

Some days, Everly still thinks she sees him. In the food court at the mall, or in a car speeding past as the light changes. It only lasts a second, but when it happens, she slips back to a time when she was ruled-and nearly ruined-by August Kincaid. And it doesn’t matter that she’s moved on, that she’s about to marry another man. In those moments the only thing she can do to regain control is take a deep breath and remind herself that August can’t hurt her-because he’s in a coma. Except that he’s not anymore.

August is awake. With no memories, he sets out to solve the mystery of his lost life. He unearths a photograph of a beautiful redhead named Everly and knows instinctively that she’s the key. But when he finds her, the August she describes is more monster than man.

Tortured by the thought of having hurt her, August wants only to become the man Everly deserves. As the new August emerges, Everly glimpses the person she first fell in love with. But can she trust that this August is real? When the final secret of their shared past is revealed, one of them will make a choice that changes their future forever . . .

Holy crap…. J.L. Berg!
Why haven’t I ever read any of your books before?!
Omg… This book was just so much. And I mean that in a good way! This book was just so full. The characters so relatable. I absolutely loved it. I totally devoured this book. I couldn’t put it down.

I truly don’t know how to write his review! My feelings and emotions are all over the place! I went into this book really thinking and seeing how it was all going to be played out…
But then you just swept the rug right out from under my feet! I don’t know what to think about it all anymore!

The Synopsis pretty much says everything about the book. So I won’t retell what the book is about. I’ll just go right into my review.

Right now I don’t feel or see that Everly did anything wrong. Even in the very end when we find out what happens to August.
August on the other hand. I really don’t know how to feel about him at all. He came in as a mystery and basically until the very end… ended on one too.
I was really feeling him…. Now, I don’t know. I’m still kind of upset with him.

Ryan… He’s the sweet and caring guy. But, I feel he will get the short end of the stick. There is just too much between August & Everly. He will never be able to compete with all that…. No matter how hard he tries. But I can’t wait to see what role he plays in Remembering Everly.

Wow… I truly felt for her. She had a lot going on. And she had a lot of unresolved issues with August & Ryan. All she wanted was a simple and settled life. But everything kept throwing her in a loop. She didn’t know how to deal with it all.

This book has so many twist and turns it leaves you wanting more. I truly had no idea how it was all going to be played out in the end.

I’m seriously bummed that I have to wait for book 2 (March 1st)! I usually wait to read series books until they are all out. Because, I hate to wait.
But… Even though this book leaves off in a cliffhanger. It’s not too bad and doesn’t leave you wanting to throw your kindle at he wall!

I will definitely recommend this book to everyone! It’s a must read!
