Maggie Larken is a reformed party girl. After her parent’s death, she’s left to raise Asher, her nine-year-old brother.

Luke Wilson has done everything his parents have ever asked of him. A new teacher, Luke constantly questions where his life is headed.

When Luke and Maggie meet, neither is in the market for a relationship. But sometimes life has other plans. Both navigate new waters as they try to decide where their priorities should lie, while also seizing what they want.

In this heartbreakingly real tale of love, Maggie and Luke discover what being a family truly means.

This was an ok read for me.
This book started off a little slow. It picked up in the middle and end.
But overall just stayed lukewarm for some reason… This book never pushed over to the “I just can’t put this book down”.

Even though I felt for bad for Maggie and the situation she was in. I really wasn’t feeling Maggie’s character. I found her to be really cold. And a little one sided with things.
I hated how she was a chain smoker. That was very unattractive to me.

What I did love about her character was the love she had for her brother Asher.
She really stepped it up for him. I loved that.

Luke had his own set of problems.
His home life wasn’t great at all. His parents were a nightmare! Especially his dad.
But, I felt overall Luke was a good guy. Helping his siblings out.
I was really feeling Luke in the beginning and middle of the book.
Then….He just dropped the ball with me. He pushed so hard for something with Maggie.
Then… Poof! Freak out!

I loved how Maggie stood her ground with Luke. He really did have to prove himself.
I thought Asher was a good kid. But I wished the author would have addressed his issues ( thumb sucking).
I know Maggie had a lot on her plate.
But… It was such a big issue for her in the beginning of the book.

Overall… This was an ok book for me.
